Cancun: The Perfect Spring Break Destination For Any College Student

By Victoria Robertson on February 2, 2015

Spring Break brings with it the pressures to plan a perfect, amazing week of partying, especially for college students. No one wants to return to school and say they sat on the couch and watched Netflix all break long.

We need stories to tell our roommates, adventures to brag about and memories to last a lifetime. That’s quite a list of requests to ask of one location.

But your prayers have been answered, so look no further. A recent press release brought to you by Amstar DMC didn’t hold back in commending Cancun as the “Spring Break mecca of the world.”

In fact, it went as far as listing 10 reasons as to why Cancun should be your next Spring Break travel destination. So forget Miami and don’t even think about the Wisconsin Dells for the third year in a row, it’s time to indulge a little bit and take that trip out to Cancun.

According to the press release, souvenirs in Cancun are stellar. Mariachi sombreros can be picked up in Cancun, which not only make the perfect souvenir to remember your trip by, but also provide just the right amount of shade from that hot Mexican sun while you’re laying on the beach.

Speaking of that hot sun, the press release also points out how perfect this trip is for getting that perfect bronze you’ve been longing for. No more winter white, it’s time for a golden tan.

The press release isn’t so revealing as far as prices go, but it does mention the proximity to the U.S. as well as the all-inclusive accommodations that surround the destination.

Plus, there’s public transportation from the accommodations to the beach at all hours of the day, so all of your concerns are covered here.

Of course, quite possibly one of the biggest arguments for this destination is the authenticity. We all talk about how much we love Mexican food and I’ll bet there have been many drunken college nights we have tequila to thank for, so going to the home of these staples would be a dream come true.

According to the press release, “real tequila must be 100% blue agave (a plant not a cactus) and is best imbibed using your best tough guy impression: straight no chasers.”

If that doesn’t convince any college student, I don’t know what will.

While most of the press release’s arguments are ones we’ve probably heard before, this is one that may not be so common: the Inception Music Festival.

According to the press release, this festival consists of “top international DJ’s, great music, beautiful beaches and more party people from all over the world dancing to the beat than most people ever see in a lifetime. Organizers of this party on the beach (and at Cancun’s premier nightclubs) call it, ‘The wildest week of your life.’”

So for those of you that were searching for a beach destination with more to do than just tan, it sounds like you just found your perfect vacation spot.

Of course, there’s even more than this to do on the land in Cancun, as there are also Mayan ruins and pyramids that you can climb, take artsy photos of or even just admire.

Plus, the press release mentions snorkeling trips, boat rides, zip lining adventures and so many more excursions to make this a trip anyone can enjoy.

The bottom line: you don’t need to spend the entire trip on the beach if that isn’t your thing.

Then again, if it is your thing, you’re in luck.

White sand beaches. Need I say more?

According to the press release, “No Photoshop is needed to make these beautiful beaches look any more amazing and awe-inspiring than they already are. Moreover, with over 16 miles of white sand paradise to choose from, you can always take some time away from the party scene to kick it back and soak up some rays in front of the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea.”

Really, Cancun sounds like the perfect destination for almost any traveler, and college students looking for a place to spend Spring Break are continuously drawn to this beautiful location.

And I mean really, can you blame them?
